The Ultimate in Game Bird Shooting
The only way to really understand grouse shooting is to experience it first hand. There are a number of ways to shoot grouse including walking up over flushing dogs such as Springer Spaniels, or shooting them over pointing dogs. But the ultimate way to experience the full thrill of grouse shooting is to have them driven towards you.
Red Grouse are truly wild birds. It is not possible to rear them in captivity so their natural habitat must be managed to perfection to ensure a successful natural breeding season. They can fly at speeds of up to 90mph with the wind at their tails and give the hunter a true challenge.
The Red Grouse live in the higher and wilder parts of Great Britain. The mountain scenery from a grouse butt (or hide) is truly spectacular. The breathtaking views add to an unrivalled experience.
